Stirling member James Donaldson, held off a sensational last round finish from local man James White, to capture the biggest win of his career, in the prestigious Leven Amateur Gold Medal, at Leven Links last weekend.
In the 72 hole Strokeplay event, James opened with rounds of 66 and 67 to hold a four stroke lead over former winner James White, 72 and 65 at the half way stage.
James increased his lead to seven strokes ahead of White after a third round 69 while Lundin member James White carded a 72.
Despite an outstanding final round of 62 from White, James capped a brilliant weekend performance with a closing 66 to finish on 268 three strokes from White, with Turnhouse player Eddie Jackson seven strokes further back in third place.
Well done to our very own James Donaldson!
