Well hasn't this been a week to forget! I always said that moving back to Scotland was easy although deep down in my heart I knew by the time winter comes round, I may be saying something different... Well hasn't winter hit us hard over the last week. Gone are the fresh bright mornings and blue skies and in comes the fog and the rain, when was the last time we saw the sun?
Kenny's Travels
Enough of the doom and gloom, my newsletters are supposed to be inspiring and light hearted. So to cheer you all up I am going to tell you all about my weekend trip to Fairmont, St. Andrews, to play the Kittoch course. Having not struck a ball in anger in a few weeks I wasn't expecting much and my expectations became a reality when I stepped onto the first tee! Although the weather was brilliant it was blowing a gale, unfortunately as you may or may not know it's not much fun in cross winds when you're not sure which way your ball is going! Having said all of that, I must say what an enjoyable place it was, I had a great time catching up with friends and the views across the sea and back down to the town were incredible, well worth the £20!
On Tuesday this week I went along to the BRS road show at Turnhouse Golf Club to try and learn a bit more about our tee booking system, our back of house V1 operating system and to make sure we can keep in touch with the members and guests as well as possible. Our Secretary Gary joined me along with the effervescent Bill Christie who you will have realised by now has joined me in the pro shop over the winter months. Unfortunately we didn't get as much information as we would have liked, but we may just have found a few bits and bobs that could be put in place at LGC to ensure day to day bookings and competitions run a little easier. Watch this space!
