Linlithgow season finale sees large turnout!
Well done to all those who came out for the final Saturday medal of the year last Saturday. It is amazing to think that the season has come to an end while the weather has been so good. Unfortunately this signals the start of the winter sweep season and so many of you are due to get started in your retrospective groups that this proved difficult for us to extend the season. I for one intend on playing a bit more this winter, so please give me a shout when you're a man down!
Alongside the final medal of the year, I had my final "Best the Pro" opportunity for you all at the 7th hole. Congratulations to all seven of you that beat me on the day, you will ALL receive a bonus to your shop account to the tune of £13! I would like to remind people that my "Beat the Pro" challenge is more of an additional FUN challenge running on medal days, it is not compulsory for you to enter, so please do so only if you wish. I appreciate it is not for everyone, I am simply trying to improve our club members experience on medal days and give out some additional sweep money to those who are successful.
Hole in one alert!
Congratulations to our very own John Sinclair who closed his season in style last weekend with a hole in one at the 17th, reporters from the Linlithgow Gazette were claiming that the ball flew straight into the hole without even touching the sides, after some further digging some sources closer to the incident were claiming that he may have missed the green right and relied on a "favourable bounce" in off the slope!
Well done all the same John, as they say "there are no pictures on the scorecard!"
Thank You
Today (Wednesday) is Cameron's last day and he has asked to pass on a few words "I just want to say a special thank you to everyone who has dropped in some leaving gifts over the last few weeks, especially the ladies section who had a whip round. It really wasn't necessary but that thank you all the same!" Cameron is going off to look at a few different options that will suit him better and we all wish him the best of luck!
For anyone who is out in Linlithgow Main St tonight, stay away from the Four Marys as we have our leaving drinks for Cammy, for those who are not in the know, Phil can be quite a handful once he's had a couple of glasses of Bucks fizz!
