Silloth 2015
Another busy week around the club last week as we hosted a successful Linlithgow Silloth 2015!
Before I go on to bore you all with my poor jokes. I wanted to let you all know about the hard work and time that has gone into this year's Silloth. Most of you are aware that it is the Vice Captain's duty to organise the Silloth each year, so the responsibility fell on the shoulders of Jim McFadyen.
Jim has unfortunately had the "pleasure" of a few sleepless nights over the last few weeks, chasing sponsors, collecting prizes, organising starts sheets, building gazebos etc. and I am sure, he more than anyone, is glad that this year's event is out of the way. All in all we had approximately 160 golfers taking part this year and the event went extremely well considering the weather conditions. A huge well done to Jim for all of his efforts this year (and of course Jackie his wife) you really have done a fantastic job in running this event.
Considering the amount of effort that does go on, I would like to use this opportunity to ask anyone who may be willing to help with some of our events for next season to please get in touch. It would be a huge help to the club if we had a small events committee that would not require a lot of time or effort. Many hands make light work as they say!
The winners from this year's event are as follows;
First place - G. Ford and D. Stark, second place - J. Simpson and J. McDonald, third place - A. Logan and J. Hill, fourth place - W. Christie and A. Craig and in fifth place - E. McMorran and G. Cockburn.
Club Golf
The practice area will be closed from Monday, 10 August to Friday, 14 August between the hours of 10am and 2pm due to our club golf camp.
Junior Coaching
This week's junior coaching took place indoors due to the poor weather, pictured is Sam Thomas who took advantage of the FlightScope ball flight radar to get video analysis which is the most accurate information about how and why his golf ball is performing in the way it is. With the winter months not far around the corner, you may have been thinking about your winter development programme, please contact me here to get more information about how I can help you improve your game whilst everyone else puts their clubs away for the winter!
PING Fitting Day
We have managed to arrange a fitting day with our friends at PING here on Friday, 21 August. There will be individual 30 minute fitting appointments available between 12pm and 3:30pm, or just come along on the day between 3.30pm and 5pm to try PING's latest technology. If you are serious about your game and want to make improvements then a fitted club or set of clubs could be that missing piece to your golfing jigsaw.
Places will be limited so please click here to request your FREE space.
New arrivals
This week is an exciting one as we see PING launch their new iron products. PING have a great life cycle of each iron release and the much anticipated i series players iron and the GMax game improvement iron will be coming in store very soon. Please click on the video which will hopefully help you get a feel for what's in store!
As a PING Authorised Fitting Centre, I am really looking forward to testing these irons in my indoor fitting room. Using the most accurate indoor ball flight radar system, FlightScope, I am able to give independent comparisons against your current clubs. Have you been thinking of upgrading? Or ever had any doubts that your current set really is right for you? Please click here to get in touch and let me know if there is anything I can do to help you get a little more from your game!
