So Chambers Bay has come and gone with this year's U.S. Open venue causing more controversy than ever before. I am not sure many of you managed to stay up and watch all the way to the end on Sunday night, but those who did were certainly entertained! After all the complaints and remarks regarding the greens, unfortunately for some, this year's event will probably be remembered for a dodgy three putt on the 72nd hole……



With the second Major of the year now out the way, it only seems right that we should turn our attention to the biggest one of them all….Kenny Monaghan's Golf Professionals Day! Some of you correctly noticed my little gag last week when I mentioned the date for this year's event. It is great to see that so many of you are reading my newsletters in so much detail, well done! Just to confirm the date for this year's event is Saturday, 25 July. Tee time booking will be available through the professional shop for this event and not online. To book your place please contact the professional shop on 01506 844356 or contact me here. Some important details for the event are as follows;

• Two ball betterball teams
• All adult male and female membership categories along with their visitors are welcome to play (all players must have a valid handicap)
• Tee times available from 7am throughout the day
• Entry £10 per head
• Drinks and BBQ included in entry fee plus entry to "Kenny's Karaoke"
• Prize giving between 7:30pm and 8pm (approximately)

This is a day to remember at Linlithgow Golf Club and I plan to follow on from the tremendous work that Graeme Bell has done in previous years. You may have noticed that I have booked some evening entertainment in the form of a DJ, who will be coming along to entertain us all night. This is a great opportunity for you all to bring your partners along to our clubhouse and enjoy yourselves for the evening. I for one will be trying my hardest to get away from changing nappies that night! Lets make it a day/night to remember, I wonder if our Greens Keeper will have any surprises planned like Chambers Bay…..

Beat the Pro

Last Saturday's June Medal gave you all another chance to get one over on your club Professional. My beat the pro competition was probably my most successful yet as only 12 of you managed to beat me all day! I would like to thank you all again for getting involved, I hope you can all see this as a bit of fun on medal days as well as an attempt from me to add some more value to that day. Beat the Pro June Medal winners were Jim Jamieson, Mark Mills, P. Begg, Daniel Sneddon and Graeme Scott with each player receiving £17.40! Well done to you all!

Bunker proposal meeting

You may have noticed a lot of talk around the club over the last couple of weeks regarding the new bunker proposal. I would like to remind you all about the upcoming information night/vote tomorrow (Thursday, 25 June) in the clubhouse at 7pm. Can I please remind you all that these important evenings require your attendance and vote. This is a huge opportunity for our club and whether you are for or against your attendance is vital. Grant will be on hand to provide a presentation and answer any questions that you may have. I hope to see you all there.
