So the sunshine is finally here!
What a lovely drive I had to work this morning, singing in my car, remembering that the beautiful weather of Scotland really is just like Dubai.....Blue skies, sunshine, beaches and 30+ degrees! Ok the last part may not be true, but what a difference it makes to see the sunshine pop out this week. Along with the sun, I have also had the chance to meet some more members over the last few days, those who claim to be the "summer golfers", hopefully this is a sign that the summer has officially started and the season is coming!
We have had such a fantastic and positive response to the new newsletter and website which we launched last week. We are pleased that so many of you have either spoken to me and the team in the shop or sent me an email. That really is the aim of this weekly communication, to inform and to encourage more golfers to talk to us about their game and how they would like to improve. Have you set your aims for the year? If so let us help you achieve them and make 2015 a fantastic golfing year. For those of you that might have missed our email last week, We'd like to tell you a little more about our new email and website. We have spent a lot of time putting together this website. You will find videos on the latest golf equipment, instructional tips and videos, contact forms to keep in touch and information on the promotions that we have running in my shop. But we also want to feature you! So if you have any news be it a hole in one, birth of a son or granddaughter, a testimonial on how great your new driver or electric trolley is we want to know and we will be delighted to feature you in our site.
We had a little refurb in the shop this week (and no we didn't trade Phil in for a younger model) we managed to get a new carpet laid. There was a little stock to be moved around and I even flexed my muscles to pull the old carpet out. Thanks very much to LGC member Jim Walker and his team for the fantastic work laying the carpet, what a difference it has made. The Winter Eclectic boys were the first to witness the new carpet yesterday and there were many comments regarding the "magic" deals flying around in the pro shop.......(Sorry couldn't let that one slide).
We also had a new fridge delivered in store, together both items have pride of place along with the new and improved professional (Hi Graeme).
We have the sports dinner coming along next Friday night (27th March) and we still have a few tickets left for you to get involved, I am sure this will be another great evening at the club. Knowing Alan Tait personally who is one of the speakers on the night, I can tell you that you are in for a right OLD laugh when he steps up. Alan is currently the Director Of Golf at Dalmahoy as well as being an Ex European Tour player who has many a good story to tell about his days playing golf.
Frank McGarry is the other speaker who comes from just up the road at West Lothian Golf Club.

With the sun, we start to see lots of traffic on the course, I'm sorry to put a little dampener on my hilarious, witty charm but I do need to remind everyone to help look after their golf course. We have had a few more issues this week of pitchmarks on the greens, and now more so than ever we need help to get these pitchmarks repaired as soon as you enter the green. Thank you in advance for your co-operation. I am sure we will all see the benefit this summer!
Baby update!
Still no baby here yet, official due date is Friday, 20 March so hopefully "number two" makes an appearance shortly......before my wife takes her frustrations out on me!
