Hello Golfers,

I have a much shorter than normal newsletter for you all this week as I find myself typing away on Tuesday night before I go away for a week’s break with my family on Wednesday! We are off to Hvar in Croatia to attend a family wedding this weekend. Sorry to rub your noses in it but this is our family holiday this summer!

Titleist Fitting Day

Thanks again to everyone who turned up to last Friday's Titleist Fitting Day, to date that has been our most successful trial day with an oversubscribed attendance list! I hope that you all enjoy coming along and learning more about the latest products on the market while also watching what they can do to improve your game!

The latest T-Series range of irons definitely seemed to be a favourite on the day, remember that most manufacturers offer a wide range of irons to compliment golfers of every level! I personally really enjoyed watching how much our members got involved in the day and were desperate to learn more. Fitting days aren't all about selling, it’s about providing a great service, product testing and finding improvements!

I am hopeful we continue to get some offerings throughout the off season, watch this space!

You have heard me going on about the upgrades to shop stock recently as we stock up for the winter playing season, I haven’t finished yet with many more products arriving week to week.

Club news

Check Your Junk

You should have received a number of emails from Club Secretary Garry Bowman this week, it seems that he is having some issues with his communication server Club V1 and a lot of emails may have been sent to "Junk" automatically. Club V1 are aware of their issue and are doing what they can to rectify.

Can I please encourage all Stirling members to check your junk mail to avoid missing important club information! I know my weekly newsletters are most definitely your favourite but Garry's are generally far more important!

They've done it again

Winter is coming

Have you ever noticed how much harder you need to hit your putts in the winter compared to summer? As surfaces begin to slow due to longer grass and wetter greens, the need for a little extra effort on your putting stroke becomes clear.

Should you change your putter?

As putts need to be hit harder to get the ball going the same distance as they do in the summer months, using a heavier putter certainly won’t do you any harm.

The thought here is that a heavier putter will do more of the work for you, allowing for a smooth and more controlled putting stroke.
