Welcome to this week’s newsletter. It seems another week has flown by and here I am sitting in front of my computer again late on a Wednesday night writing my newsletter. Fear not though, this week’s newsletter is a great read and easy to write as I get to talk about myself, fantastic.
Enjoy the read.

Team Stirling triumph again
On Tuesday I made my return to competitive golf (only my second event of the year) where I joined Club Captain Andy Malcolm in representing Stirling GC in the Skycaddie Pro - Captain Scottish Qualifier at West Lothian GC. For all my loyal fans out there, you may remember that myself and Past Captain William McQuillian triumphed in this same event last year and won ourselves a trip to Mallorca? |
Well, it seems that lightning really does strike twice! Thanks to a fantastic round from my playing partner and a few sneaky shots from myself we managed to cruise over the line with a one-shot victory in this year’s event!
Come the end of October, myself and Andy will now head out to the beautiful Argentario Golf Resort and Spa in Tuscany for the five day Grand Final looking to compete for the overall winner's medal.~
I don't get out much and can't claim for many successes over the last few years, but I do seem to think I have missed my true calling in life, a little like Andy Murray's not so famous brother Jamie, the champion of the doubles format tennis. Maybe it’s the comfort of a good partner or maybe a just like a free holiday, either way, I will take it.

New arrivals and offers
The Pro Shop stock has had a massive upgrade, this week we have taken delivery of a number of brand new items in the first of the Autumn clothing drops! Don't worry, its nowhere near the cold weather yet, it’s just time for a little freshen up. Pop in and have look, we have some great garments arriving daily. With every new product range, we try to move on some older items, I have added a number of items to our inshore Sale Rail. If you like to grab a bargain, we have up to 50% OFF selected items. Earlier in the week we also played host to the PING Fitting Day, thanks to everyone who came along, spent some time trying out the products and especially those who asked lots of questions, my team and I are always trying to help you get the best from your game. You may not believe me but it’s not always about selling, there's a number of you out there that can back me up on that.

Special general meeting
A gentle reminder that next Wednesday evening is our Special General Meeting regarding the new Practice Ground proposal. I hope that as many of you as possible can make it along on the night (I believe we need 60 people in attendance to ensure a vote goes ahead) to listen to everything that is due to be presented. My own views are that this is a fantastic opportunity to improve the facilities here at the club; the opportunity to attract a wider audience whilst providing facilities for all our younger golfers, the local community and even those who have never played the game is very exciting. More importantly, our current members are going to benefit the most, with properly constructed short game areas, more targets to aim at and control your iron shots. A better conditioned teeing area, whilst also increasing length and space makes great use of the space we have. As your proud Club Professional, I pride myself on trying to improve EVERYTHING we do here at the club. Our small team have worked long and hard to secure funding to back this project (the biggest payout this year from Sport Scotland's Facilities Fund). I feel this would be a fantastic addition to the club’s facilities and future. Some of our local competitors have benefited from similar projects. Wouldn't it be nice to come along and use another of our clubs amazing facilities in the future?

#468FCD ; text-align: left;">No distractionsIt's not always easy to get in the zone or feel completely comfortable over the ball so, when you do, the last thing you need is to look down and be distracted by your shoes. Style always comes down to individual taste, but here are two shoes at either end of the spectrum that catch our eye for different reasons. |
| Mizuno Nexlite 006 Boa | Classic style meets sporty function in these brilliant shoes. The no-nonsense design at address oozes confidence whilst the lightweight construction is a joy to wear throughout the day. |
| Mizuno Wave Cadence GTX | The modern trainer-like style of Mizuno’s Wave Cadence blends the brand's running heritage for ultimate long-distance comfort and a look ideal for those who favour the bolder side of things. |
|
We have an extensive range of golf shoes available in-store with styles, colours and designs to match everyone's taste. So, be sure to pop in and try on a pair or two for size the next time you're in the market for new shoes.
