Opening Day
Last Saturday was of course Opening Day here at SGC, the day went fantastically from start to finish. This included a large turnout for Captain Andy Malcolm and his opening drive, for those who didn't see it, Andy told me to report a 360 bullet straight down the middle, as always I would like to be as honest as possible and report a "gentle" fade down the right hand side. I played along on in the opening nine hole event and had a great morning joining members Mike Edwards, Hugh O'Connor and Martin Davidson. Unfortunately for Martin and myself, we were beaten by a couple of sharks on the last hole in the short nine-hole format. The event was a big success, i’m personally proud to see wide range of members playing and having fun. |
Kids at The Castle
Our latest block of junior coaching has now kicked off for the 2019 season with 40 kids now enrolled in our Junior Development Programme, Scott, Heather and myself will all be delivering lessons this season while progressing the kids through the structured programme and onto the golf course. On Monday night I was joined by 15 kids (two separate groups) who had an absolute ball, we spent the night working on pitching, we finished off with various "killer" games that had us all laughing our heads off, engaging with the kids and supporting them as members will ensure the future is bright at Stirling GC. For all Junior Members at SGC, please watch out for some information regarding FREE coaching sessions that will be going on during the Easter holidays.

Last Sunday we also welcomed over 50 kids to the club through the Junior Flag Competition supported by Golphin, my objective of organising this event was to show our younger juniors that there are loads of other friendly children out there competing and progressing to the main course. We were able to attract children from all around the country and show them some of the work we are doing here at our club, unfortunately the weather wasn't great, although it didn't seem to stop the children and the visiting families, the feedback was incredible.

It's certainly a lot easier to play better golf when you feel good about yourself and your game. Whilst you might not always be 'on-the-money' with your swing, you certainly have no excuse when it comes to what you're wearing. |
Glenmuir's latest collection for spring/summer '19 oozes style and is, without doubt, one of their best clothing ranges to date. The main thing we love this year is Glenmuir's combination of striking colours and subtle styling, enabling them to create a fashionable range that wouldn't look out of place off the course either.
We've got Glenmuir's fantastic collection displayed in-store for you to try on, as well as some beautiful club-crested garments too.
