Kenny heads West
On Monday I ventured down to Troon to play the PGA Fourball event at the Portland Golf Course. As you all are well aware, I don't get the opportunity to play much these days balancing a hectic work schedule with a young family, I do however still really enjoy playing.
I hadn't been on the course since January so wasn't expecting much but I played pretty well, five birdies for the team resulted in us finishing in 3rd place (9 under) and my first cheque for the season. I'm not quite ready to say I'm going back to playing regular events again unless I get the chance to take another good partner.

We're excited about this This season I will be bringing all the members of Stirling Golf Club a huge selection of shoes from FootJoy, Under Armour and Mizuno in ladies, gents and juniors, we cater for you all
|
FootJoy’s latest offering has landed in-store and we love it! The stylish UltraFIT Boa shoe is all about comfort and fit; two things that are so important across 18 holes.
The comfort element comes from its underfoot cushioning and leather uppers, whilst the remarkable fit comes from Boa technology. Now, many of you will have heard of Boa but might not be sure what it is or how it works; all we can say is that it’s a massive upgrade on traditional laces and provides an unbeatable snug-like fit. Click here to find out more.
Don’t just take our word for it, come in-store and experience it for yourself.

Out with the old, in with the new Sometimes, you buy something new because there's a need; for example, your golf bag has broken zips or the stand no longer works. At other times, you upgrade what you already own because there's something new that you want, such as a new golf bag in-store that looks fantastic. Whatever your reason is, we're offering £20 OFF selected bags in-store when you trade-in your old one with us - no matter its condition! |

Kids at the Castle
I am delighted to tell you that Kids at The Castle 2019 sign ups have been incredible, this is great news for us here at the Pro Shop as getting this project off the ground has been one of my main targets over the last 14 months or so. Considering we had no recognised junior programme at the club I am delighted to tell you we are just short of 40 children enrolled for the first eight week black of coaching due to commence next week. Due to the demand we now only have a couple of spaces available for the following class: - Tuesday, 19 March: 5.35pm - 6.35pm To grab one of the final spaces please click here to get in touch.

Opening Day
Opening Day is of course next Saturday, 23 March, unfortunately the signup sheet in the clubhouse is due to come down for the draw to be made, but don’t let that stop you from participating in the other events on that day:
Captains Drive In
Our Club Captain will kick things off at approximately 9:00am with the traditional drive in, can I please ask as many of you as possible (especially all the new members) to come along and join in. Andy is of course a very confident person and a good golfer, I wonder how his nerves will be if we manage to get over 100 people along to watch him tee off.
Opening Day Quiz
In the evening club member Stewart Gillespie will be hosting another one of his fun evening quizzes in the main clubhouse, we are still on the lookout for teams of six and we encourage you to register with friends and family members, even non-members. if you are struggling for a team, you can always come along in smaller groups and the quiz master will get you organised with a team, I’m sure like most events this will be well attended. And finally, we have our Night Golf event this Friday night, with 50 players due to take part! fingers crossed for some decent weather, if you are looking for a game please get in touch by clicking here. |
Motocaddy has always been at the forefront of trolley innovation, with the world's first GPS electric trolley amongst their ranks. Well, this year they’ve made some significant upgrades to the immensly popular S1 model, which we think you're going to love. |
| New Motocaddy S1 electric trolley (2019) |
|
We don't like using the term 'entry level' to describe the new S1 as it offers so much more than what this suggests. At first glance, you'll take a liking to its modernised styling and graphics, which will really help make it stand out from other trolleys on the market. Then you get to its technology: new and improved sunlight-friendly LCD display, nine speed settings, advanced battery meter so you needn't worry about it running out mid-round without knowing, and a super-lightweight Lithium battery to name but a few. The new S1 for 2019 is as good as it gets at this price point, so pop in-store to take a look and get one in your hands. |
