Welcome to another edition of my weekly newsletter, this week we update you on the latest products hitting the Pro Shop as we ramp things up for the season ahead. We have wedding bells in the horizon to tell you about while a gentle reminder on some club events will get you excited and thinking about the season ahead.
Enjoy this week's read. |
The "Crazy Season" is upon us
The boxes have started, the crazy season is upon us! February and March are traditionally referred to as “Crazy Season” in the Monaghan household, the time where I don't see my wife for six to eight weeks (she loves this by the way) as all the mad golfers start coming back out the woodwork in preparation for the season ahead. Golf lessons, club fittings, new product launches, increased stock levels, new apparel ranges and merchandising the shop means we are going to be busy for the next few months. Having said that the full season is of course the best time of the year, we will be welcoming a new member of staff to the Pro Shop team in the next few weeks, but I will keep you in suspense for a little while longer with that one. |
PING G410 arrives at Stirling
This week we started to receive some of the new PING G410 wood range, you may remember me talking about the iron launch a couple of weeks back, but now it’s time for the drivers, fairway metals and hybrids. As always, we will be offering the full range of shafts and head combinations for fitting to ensure any PING lover has the perfect combination for their game. The official metal launch is Wednesday, 6 March but we will be available for fittings from next week.
Please click here to get in touch directly for fittings, or click on the PING driver below for more information. |

New products in-store You've already read about the latest PING metals release, but look what else has arrived this week. Odyssey Stroke Lab putters, Scotty Cameron Select newest designs, more Titleist trial/demo sets as well as a full range of PING Carry and Cart bags. |
As always, remember I try to keep the shop stocked with as wide a range of products as possible (not always easy for a small retailer with limited space). However, if there is every something that you see elsewhere, please get in touch as I have accounts with major manufacturers in the golf industry. Also, don't forget with our Foremost Price Match Guarantee, you cannot beat us for price.

Best looking irons ever? Wow. These irons are beautiful. Titleist irons always perform exceptionally well, both for the better player in the AP2 model as well as the AP3 iron for game-improvers. From 1st March 2019, there will be an extremely limited number of each set available in this gorgeous all-black finish. We know that it won't be for everyone's taste, but if you like the look of them as much as we do and want something that no-one else has, be sure to click on the button below and leave us a message.

Wedding bells
This weekend Heather will be holding the fort at the Pro Shop as I am off to celebrate the wedding of Scott and his beautiful fiancée Emma at Balbirnie House in Glenrothes. You may have noticed, Scott likes to keep most things to himself, next week however I will hopefully have a picture of the lovely couple to share with you all.

We are just over one month away from bringing the first ever Night Golf event to the club. To date we have about 50 players entered to play, with some spaces still available to join in what I am sure will be a great night.
We invite all members to join us, even bring some friends along from other clubs to make up your team. The price for the vent is £25.00 per person which includes all the necessary equipment (high vis jackets, balls that light up in the dark etc etc) all of which being supplied by our hosts The Night Golf Pro's and a fantastic Curry, rice and nan bread cooked by our lovely kitchen team.

For those of you who have no idea what I am taking about, please check out the Facebook link here for more information about what to expect. I’m sure this will be a great event and something new to kick start our anniversary year.
As we approach the event, I am now reaching out to those entered and I request that payment is now made in the Professional Shop. I have personally organised and paid for this event with the "Night Golf Pro's" who will be coming along on the night to deliver. For those who have not paid yet can I ask that payment is received promptly and by latest date of Thursday, 28 February.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the event will have to be scrapped if payment is not received before the end of the month (sorry to be so mean).

Rules of Golf Sunday, 3 March - 3:00pm
We all know that rules can be boring, most of the time. This year there have been some big changes from the governing bodies of golf who have decided to modernise the rules that we use to play this beautiful game. Fear not, I am pleased to tell you that I have managed to secure the services of one of the finest golf referees in the country to come and present a very funny and insightful review of the rules at our very own club.
Ian Taylor PGA Advance Professional and European Tour Official Referee will be coming to the club on Sunday, 3 March at 3:00pm. This event is a FREE event for club members and we encourage you to come along and join in, Ian will even host a Q&A session at the end of his presentation to answer any questions you may have, check out the poster below.

More and more golfers are placing their trust in GPS equipment to help them on the course, providing key yardages to hazards and greens on every hole. If you’re yet to take advantage of this technology then you really are missing out, so here are a couple of our favourite products for you to cast an eye over... |
| Garmin Approach S10 Watch | This is the perfect accessory to help you get your exact yardage to the green with nothing more than a glance at your wrist. Sleek, lightweight and comfortable, the S10 GPS watch provides yardages to the front, back and middle of the green on over 41,000 courses worldwide, on top of hazards and doglegs, giving you all the key information you need to play better golf. |
| Garmin Approach G80 Device | Now this is something special. The Approach G80 is a handheld GPS device that gives you colour maps of every hole as well as key distances to greens and hazards. In addition, its integrated Launch Monitor not only tracks key data such as clubhead speed and estimated distance, but it comes with four game modes to enhance your practice time at the range. |
