The season is coming to an end, the clocks are going back this weekend and the leaves are falling off the trees, poor James has the thankless task of collecting those leaves but it seems more return the very next day. This weekend we have the closing day competition and the rearranged Grouse Fourball (men only) to officially close the season, that doesn’t mean that your golf has to stop though.
Have a great weekend and enjoy this week’s read.

Course update
Next week we begin the final stage of the on-course bunker project and complete the final four holes. The changes I have witnessed from my previous visits to my time as Head Professional have been incredible, I'm sure James, the architect and the contractors will be working away very hard over the next few weeks to finish this worthwhile programme. It really has been a great playing season both on and off the course.

Ladies Prizegiving 2018
Friday night we welcome all the ladies back to the club "dressed to impress!" for the 2018 Prizegiving, it’s been a while since I won anything but I do remember these nights were great fun. Congratulations to all the winners at this year’s event, I’m sure the process will go down a treat on the night. There may be a special guest attending this year, keep your eyes open.

The future is bright
Congratulations to Stirling GC member Thomas Kelly who recently won the Golphin Junior Flag and Stableford Order of Merit at Dundonald Links.
Thomas is also a member of our Junior Academy and already a familiar face around the club attending lessons and practicing almost every day.
I think we could all learn a thing or two from him, well done Thomas! |

Public enemy number one
Last Saturday night we welcomed Stirling member Micheal Goodfellow to the club to celebrate his 30th party in style with his family and friends. Micheal wanted to add a little something extra to his party by booking the Indoor Studio out for his guests to play and enjoy. If I'm being honest I wasn't sure how it would work, would they want to come into the shop? will most people even like golf? What is an indoor studio and simulator software?
|
At the end of the night we had approximately 40 people in the shop, enjoying some drinks, heckling the golfers and the girls were even removing their high heels to get in and have a go! It was a huge success and a really memorable addition to the night, I didn't get much time to step back and take a picture because it was so busy for 2.5 hours.
I did however get a picture of public enemy number one on the night and the man that everyone was desperate to beat, the party boy himself (please note this was before he also removed his brown "dancing shoes") |

The studio is available for hire and we encourage you to do so when looking to add a little something extra to your visit to the club. for more information please click here and get in touch. |
Winter Coaching Packages
I have launched two lesson packages for those out there who are looking to get your game in shape for next season.
The off season is the perfect time to get those changes made, iron them out with some increased focus on practice and build confidence before the start of the season.
Each package includes indoor practice session on our state of the art GCQuad Launch Monitor.
Skill challenges, data collection, recording improvements are all key things that elite players use to monitor improvement, we can also store every shot that you ever have on an individual account so that you never miss a thing, great for measuring your improvement. Please have a look at my lesson package flyer and get in touch directly by clicking here.
