This week we finally get to talk about the start of the golf season and in particular a successful opening weekend at Stirling Golf Club. We have some more good news about the new services on offer as well as some coaching plans going into the season. |
Opening Weekend
What a busy weekend at Stirling Golf Club, Saturday was of course the annual Captain/Vice Captain match to celebrate the Opening Day. Myself and Scott got out and joined the members for a fun filled day, but we were of course playing in opposite teams meaning one of us had to win and one of us had to lose... I am going to move on swiftly without mentioning any results. Congratulations to incoming Captain William McQuillan on making contact with his "drive-in" to officially start the season. The big man upstairs was even kind to us and brought sunshine all weekend, long may that continue. The day was complete with a brilliant quiz in the evening which was extremely well attended, unfortunately my quiz answers were as bad as my golf result in the morning, good fun all the same but more practice and some improvement on my general knowledge needed... |
Golf Buggy Hire This Thursday we will take delivery of three brand spanking new golf buggies for our members and guests to enjoy on the golf course. The buggies are available to hire on a first come first service and I am happy to announce a discounted rate for any Stirling members. The rates for 2018 are as follows; - Members - £25 per round.
- Visitors - £30 per round.
When we also move into our new professional shop we will also be offering a selection of brand new electric rental trollies and large selection of push/pull trollies. All buggies and trollies can be booked one week in advance by phoning the professional shop on 01786 464098 or by email to kenny.monaghan@foremsotgolf.com.

Get into Golf 2018 On Sunday we held the third edition of our Get into Golf campaign in conjunction with Scottish Golf. We had a great turn out of male, female and even one junior female golfer interested in starting golf at Stirling Golf Club. A huge thank you must go to GIG Organiser and Stirling member Muriel Young who has worked very hard over the past few months. She was joined throughout by a very helpful group of club volunteers that made the day run smoothly. Mark, Scott and myself also got involved in the day with some small presentations both on and off the golf course and gave everyone a shot of playing this wonderful game. The pro shop team will now roll out six weeks of group coaching to everyone who signed-up, be sure to tell any interested friends as we still have a few spaces available. |

Beginner classes will be starting week commencing Monday, 16 April and run from 6:00pm - 7:00pm in the evenings. I would like to ask all members for your support on the practice ground when you see the pro shop team delivering group coaching classes. If you would like any more information please click here. |
Ladies Coffee and Coaching Classes Last week Scott gave a morning of FREE coaching to the lady members of Stirling Golf Club, he had approximately 15 ladies take up the offer to learn some new skills before the season started. I am happy to tell you that both Scott and myself have more planned for not only the lady members, but for any ladies interested in joining in with some fun, informative group coaching - coffees are included every week. Please click here to see the information poster, I have to tell you that we only have a couple of spaces left in either the Wednesday or Thursday morning classes, act fast to avoid disappointment! |

Summer pro shop hours As we move in to the hectic golf season, I would like to tell you all about our pro shop summer operating hours commencing from Monday, 2 April. The normal opening hours will be 7:30am - 6:30pm except from busy club competition days where we will be open from approximately 30 minutes before the first tee time. If you are playing out with these times and in particular signing on any visitors, can I ask that you do this either the day before or pop in after completing any early games before the pro shop team are in for work. Thank you!

Shop refurbishment We are of course coming to the end of the pro shop refurbishments, when we are in, settled and full operationally, I will be inviting you all along to see how it all works. This is huge for the club, the members and any visitors to Stirling. Not long to go! |

Tour stars like Jordan Spieth and Matthew Fitzpatrick aren’t the only fans of this Under Armour Threadborne Tour polo, which has been getting a lot of attention in our shop. It’s made from a bespoke Threadborne Microthread fabric that dries faster so it doesn’t cling to you, won’t chafe and stretches without absorbing sweat, helping you to get a full range of motion and stay cool. | |
