It’s that time of the week again, your favourite professional is back again with some much needed golf inspiration. I'm pleased to tell you that we managed to survive this week’s Hurricane at LGC, although the course did take a bit of a battering. The weather report looks good going into the closing day weekend so fingers crossed we stay dry.

Trade-in month

Another one I hear you say? If you have read some of my last few newsletters you will remember that October is our crazy "trade-in, trade-up" month. The terms of the deal are pretty straight forward, we will give you a guaranteed trade-in value for absolutely any old golf clubs that you have lying around at home. Get into the back of the garage, check under your bed, we will take ABSOLUTELY anything... guaranteed.

Winter golf improvements

Winter conditions are just around the corner unfortunately... believe me I'm just as depressed as you are. However Phil, our new Course Manager, and his merry men have got off to a flying start over the last couple of weeks getting the course prepared for the poorer conditions. We have a few new and improved changes for this season as we look forward to the bunker project, new walkways, tees etc. Check out the pictures; we have a cracking new tee position at the third (It's flat now) and we also have a better teeing ground at 12 (Moving away from the walkway at 11 and where our new greenside bunker will sit). Well done to Phil and the rest of the team for being so organised. I am sure it will be all hands on deck for stage three of the bunkers which are due to start on Monday morning.

Members survey results

As you know I have been working away behind the scenes collecting some much needed feedback from you, our club members. Unfortunately the process has taken a little longer than planned to get the results back, mainly due to a technical fault from the survey host. I can tell you that the survey is now closed and the council are successfully putting a plan of action in place. The plan is to present a formal update to you all at this year's AGM and you will have noticed that some action has already started around the clubhouse. A special thanks to LGC members; Ken Thomson, Agnes Martin and of course Club Captain Jim MacFadyen for your swift action and help.
