Hello golfers,
This week is all about news... you will be pleased to know I have loads to tell you, so I'm going to be short on the stories and long on the news.
Linlithgow Open Day - Sunday, 9 April 2017
Our 2017 Open Day is just around the corner and this year we are inviting you all, yes you, our club members, club visitors and all new guests. The Open Day is all about opening up to each and every one of you. Whether you are looking at joining a new club or simply looking for a completely FREE game of golf, we are opening our doors to you. Everything on the day is completely FREE, feel free to bring loads of friends as they will be FREE as well, did I tell you it's FREE?
We will of course have some membership offers running on the day, some benefits to existing members who sign-up new friends and special offers if any new member pays up on the day. If you want any more information, please click here to see our promo flyer or click here to get in touch and book your FREE four ball.
To coincide with this great day, we will once again be showing live coverage of the final day of The Masters on our brand new flat screen TV. Make sure you watch out for some upgrades around the TV in the next coming weeks. The beers and food are great value and you will be able to buy your favourite pro a beer in the clubhouse while watching the golf. I have attended this day for the last two years since arriving and it has been a great day on both occasions, be sure to get involved and also get the morning off work the following day.
Sports Dinner 2017
We still have a few spaces left for the upcoming Sports Dinner on Saturday, 25 March. We have over 65 people confirmed for what I am sure will be another great night. At only £25 for a two course meal and two excellent speakers, I'm sure you will agree this is great value. This year's event is being organised to raise some additional funds, that will be used to tidy up our existing clubhouse. Feel free to come along and bring not only your partners, but your friends and there partners too.
Please note, that this is a mixed event so wives, partners and girlfriends are very welcome. At the last mixed sports dinner, we had a number of couples attending and the ladies had a great night and thoroughly enjoyed the event.
Our speakers this year are: "
- Gordon Smith ex-forward for Rangers, Man City and Brighton amongst others. Since playing, Gordon has held the Chief Executive position at the SFA, and frequently appears as a football pundit on our screens and radio. He is also a superb golfer, but that could be an 'alternative fact' about him. More details on the night.
- Frank McGarry is one of our favourite Bo'nessers and has spoken before at our club, bringing the house down that night. He has a whole new repertoire of stories for us that will no doubt have the same effect as last time.
If you would like to donate any prizes or request any table bookings, please click here with your details and I will be happy to place an initial reservation on your behalf. Alternately, click here to see our promotional poster for more details.
Some Sad News
After only five months, it is with some regret that I have to inform you that "Young Connor" will be moving on from the pro shop mid-April. As most of you will know, Connor is a student at Stirling Uni studying marketing. He has been offered a fantastic opportunity to work in the big city in a marketing job, more suited to his degree. Although, he has only been around during the quieter months, Connor certainly brought some skills and brains to the pro shop team. He will definitely be missed and he will unfortunately be away before some of you have even dusted your clubs off.
Now with him moving on, this of course means that I will be looking for a member of staff to join us for the busy season ahead. I have penned a few details below and I would appreciate if you could all share with your contacts locally. This position is open to everyone who has some interest in retailing and golf. If you would like to discuss further, please click here after reading the below.
I am looking for a golf retail assistant, with some knowledge of golf products and some retail or customer service skills to join our golf shop team at Linlithgow Golf Club. PGA member/assistant will help but not essential. You'll be serving members and guest ensuring a high level of service. Approx. 30 hours per week.
To apply, please email kenny.monaghan@foremostgolf.com.
