Winter performance coaching plan 2016/17
After the success of last year's winter coaching plan, I have decided to run a much improved offer for this year. Over the cold winter months I am hoping to utilise our first class indoor facilities to make sure that you are firing on all cylinders next season. The lessons are cheap and the focus is to improve every area of your game from the warmth of our studio.

917 fitting success
Now, unless you've had your head in the sand or you've been off on holiday to the moon you must have heard me screaming about the launch of the new Titleist 917 drivers and fairways! Last week I told you all about my lovely day out at Trump Turnberry and how I even blessed Donald himself with the introduction of my new driver, those massive fairway splitting drives were not to be overlooked for sure. Although I thought I better share some better FACTUAL information to back up fairy tales...
Step Forward LGC member Denis Watson (excuse his puzzled look but he just hit his driver further than he goes on his holidays!) who may go down as the most impressive fitting I have done as a golf professional. Denis had been struggling with his driver of late (note this is not an old driver but a PING G30 to be exact) and felt that he could be getting a lot more distance, in particular due to excessive high spinning drives.
I won't go through each and every shot that he hit (to save you from nodding off to sleep!) but I will tell you about what changes I had to make to make sure he got an improved distance gain.
Changed head size from 460cc to 440cc. Titleist have two different head sizes available D2 & D3
Changed shaft kick point to ensure that we got the desired spin rate
Chose correct shaft flex to match up with his swing speed
Altered the loft on the head to gain optimum launch angle
Compared a second shaft option to ensure we had the best possible option

Personally a 27 yard distance gain from his own G30 with almost exactly the same swing speed (1 mph of a difference) is absolutely out of this world.
