Hello golfers,

So it's been a slightly quieter week this week, which seems to be the norm when maintenance weeks here at LGC. However, fear not, this year's work has been done exceptionally well with little to almost no damage done to the greens. I played six holes this morning and must say the place is looking great after some light top dressing and all should be good come the weekend, trust me...

Wednesday morning I had the pleasure of welcoming the Titleist Fitting Team to our indoor swing studio here at Linlithgow GC. I must tell you how happy I am that I can offer these facilities to our reps and fitters, as it saves me travelling across Scotland instead. The huge news coming from Titleist is the launch of the new Titleist 917 drivers and fairways coming to you in the third week of October. As a Titleist fitting partner I will be one of the first in the country to receive the new drivers when they come to me at the end of September. Using our extensive indoor fitting tools, radars and video analysis, we will be able to give you an accurate and comprehensive fitting compared to your current model of driver or fairway.

   

Mark and I had over an hour smashing some drives away with the new 917, and as a user of the current model, I must say that the new and improved weight and fitting options in the head will be great for tailoring any one of the new models to each and every individual driver. The 915 current version was their best seller to date and offered the golfer a much improved ball speed to club speed ratio. You can see from my own shots on FlightScope that I managed to increase both my ball speed and distance dramatically without swinging the club any faster. Who said they don't notice any difference with today's modern technology? Unfortunately for me, they still fly a little offline, but doesn't that make it exciting!

 

Coaching Success Story

You may remember a couple of weeks back I was telling you all about a successful club fitting session I had with our very own LGC member, Mr Graham Bull. Graham took the plunge and invested in some new PING GMAX irons and followed it up with some FREE coaching from yours truly. He followed all of this up with winning the Saturday Medal the following week and has continued to improve this success with some follow-up lessons. In the space of a 60 minute lesson last Tuesday, Graham managed to record a whopping 11mph improvement in his ball speed and a 27 yard distance gain compared to his average. For anyone that reads my newsletters regularly you will know it's not the norm for me to preach about particular success stories, but this one for sure I had to talk about... Not so sure about his confused look though when I asked him to smile for the camera..."say cheese!"

Bunker Levy Payments

Be sure to add your name as a reference, or if you would prefer, you can hand the cash into the pro shop the next time you are passing. The second stage of the five year bunker plan is due to start next month and without the commitment from the members, the programme can not be completed. I for one think year one improvements have been different class and I can't wait to see the finished article!

Tee Signage Update

As you know I have been working away behind the scenes trying to raise some money for some new on-course signage. As much as the money has now started to come in, I am still a little short of the total sum needed to get this project up and running. The purpose of this particular scheme is to get rid of our old tatty tee boards and replace them with some nice new shiny ones. We have a variety of different packages for any local business looking to advertise their services or any club member who is simply looking to make a donation to club improvements. We have also received a couple of members groups who have chipped in as little as £320 each to see their name up in lights next season on one of the club tees. Titleist Driver Sale

In preparation of the latest driver coming to the market, I am offering the cheapest deal in town for all current 915 Titleist drivers. Fact! I have dropped the price for the last four drivers that I have in stock to a just £199.99 which is £50 cheaper than anything you will find online.
