Hello golfers,

This week's newsletter comes to you from a very tired Golf Pro, sorry to get off on such a high note, but if you thought my patter was poor before... watch this space!

My one year old son Archie has been on great form over the last week or so. For example last Saturday, he woke up around 2am full of love and excitement, after pleading with him for about an hour, I decided to take him down the stairs where we both ENJOYED about 27 episodes of Peppa Pig. By the time little Archie decided it was time to go to sleep again, I unfortunately had to make my way to work to get the weekly medal underway. Sunday night also had a very similar storyline, this time it was around 3.45am and I had Archie out in the car kicking and screaming, 10 laps of the town centre and he was out for the count again, not such luck for dad though. Coming up at Linlithgow...

We have the busiest weekend of the year coming up here at LGC, with the course almost completely booked out already, please be sure to make sure you are booking in through our online BRS booking system to avoid any disappointment. Friday we have the annual Jock Simpson Charity Day, Saturday we have the Linlithgowshire Championship, Sunday we have the Dick Dolan Open Stableford and Monday we have the Rotary Am-Am. Let's pray for some good weather so all the golfers are happy, the course is in tip top condition now we just need some blue skies and sunshine!

 

BEN Charity Pro-Am

I managed to get myself playing golf again this week when I ventured out to play in the BEN Charity Pro-Am at Archerfield Links, to say I was slightly rusty would be a complete understatement. I have to admit, the role of a Club Pro leaves me, at times, chasing my tale to say the least. Fear not though, my golf even surprised me on the day... After a flying start and getting to 5-under-par through five holes, a couple of poor shots later I managed to complete my round in 3-under-par and a second placed finish. Who said I was a complete hopeless case?
