Hello golfers,
Another week and another Major, for most of you golf fans out there, you will understand that the Major Golf Championships have all been condensed into a shorter season to allow for the Olympics this year. Credit to Jimmy Walker for holding his nerve, I don't know about you, but I never see the PGA championship as a "Major" maybe it's because it follows the Open Championship, or maybe, it's due to the poor weather for conditions. I for one fell asleep every night on the couch... Bring back the Euros!

Linlithgow Silloth
A lot has been said about the Silloth since my arrival at the club and having watched from "inside the ropes" I must tell you all about the hard work that certain members within our club put in to get this event up and running. Our Vice Captain Jim McFadyen in particular has been working tirelessly to attract members, to improve sign-ups and more importantly, keep everyone happy. I for one congratulated Jim on a great event, but I am sure he is glad it's all over.
As some of you may know, the job of organising this event normally falls to the Vice Captain, but I thought off the back of last weekend's event, I would use my newsletter platform to get in touch with all of you to ask: Why have numbers been so low the last two years? Has the dates been at wrong time of year? Has the event clashed with something else? Do you think the format should change? Do we need better prizes?
We at Linlithgow Golf Club should be proud to bring guests here to our club. We have arguably the best condition course in the county and some great practice, pro shop and clubhouse facilities, unfortunately our premier event of the calendar has taken a little tumble of late and I for one would love to make this event great again. Please feel free to get in touch here if you would like to provide some feedback regarding the Silloth and where we can help our incoming Vice Captain (yet to be announced) for next year. Thanks in advance.

Tee Signage Advertising
You may have seen my plea to you all for some support towards my new and updated tee signage for OUR course. I am sure that a lot of you out there have noticed that our current on-course signage is looking a little tired and for visiting parties and guests, this of course doesn't look great! I have been working away in the background personally contacting over 100 local businesses and now I am asking for your support. You may be a member of one of our internal club sweeps, you may have a local business or you may simply want to offer a donation to the club, well for as little as £250 you could make a huge contribution towards tidying up the course signage. I am sure you can all agree that these signs are a great way to get your business noticed with over 14,000 rounds of golf being played here at Linlithgow every year. Everyone needs to see the layout of the hole, they could also be seeing your message as well. I for one will be doing my bit! For more information, please click here.
