Hello golfers,
So The Open week is finally here and I am sure many of you are travelling down to watch the world's best take on the mighty Royal Troon! Unfortunately for me, I won't have the chance to visit this year which I am disappointed about, I for one really enjoy having the best players in the world visit our golf courses so often and it is normally very inspiring. For those of you who are travelling down, please stay away from the Bollinger tent and go and see some of the action.
Shirt Amnesty
Now that summer looks to have returned again this week, I must remind you about my latest amnesty offer... For any old tired or smelly shirt, we are very kindly going to give you £10 OFF the retail price of any brand new shirt that I currently have in store. Whether you want to look more like Rory McIlroy or you fancy cheering up your partner's wardrobe, this is a great offer to get you looking more like a golfer overnight!

Tee Signage Advertising
You may remember a few weeks back that I made a plea to you all for some support towards my new bid to get some updated tee signage for our course. I am sure that a lot of you out there have noticed that our current on course signage is looking a little tired and for visiting parties and guests alone this of course doesn't look great! I have been working away in the background personally contacting over 100 local businesses and now I am asking for your support. You may be a member of one of our internal club sweeps, you may have a local business or you may simply want to offer a donation to the club, well for as little as £250 you could make a huge contribution towards tidying up the course signage. I am sure you can agree that these signs are a great way to get your business noticed with over 14,000 rounds of golf being played here at Linlithgow every year. Everyone needs to see the layout of the hole, they could also be seeing your message as well. For more information, please click here.
Wilson Fitting Day
I have successfully managed to secure another Wilson Fitting Day for you after the success of my first full year fitting and stocking the product. I must admit that I have been pleasantly surprised by the success of the Wilson products this year as have many of you. At a very reasonable retail price I believe Wilson have to be one of the best pound for pound products on the market. This event will take place on Tuesday, 9 August and will run from 11am - 4pm.

Jim Simpson scoops the lot!
Those of you who played last Saturday would have noticed another fun event we started during medal play with our latest "Winner Takes All" nearest the pin competition at the 7th. The rules were quite clear, pay us £1 and then hit a shot at the 7th hole par three. He/she who get closets wins. Well done to Jim Simpson who scooped the main prize of £46. What I don't know yet, did you hole the out after hitting it so close?
Junior Summer Camp
This week and next you might see a lot of new, young, smiling faces around the club as we have approximately 24 new golfers joining us for the start of our summer camp. The most pleasing thing is that only four out of the two groups are currently members, yet all are as eager as each other. Incentives like these are very important to the future of our junior section. You may have already noticed a considerable increase in junior medals this week with numbers almost hitting 20 participants on more than one occasion this season. Fingers crossed numbers continue to grow and all of our full members show a helping hand to encourage the kids!
To encourage more of the next generation, we are running a Blue Tee Junior Event on Sunday, 24 July from 5pm. I am asking you all to come along and help us get the children round approximately five holes on our shorter junior course. Myself and Mark will be on hand as well and we are hoping for a big turnout. The children DO NOT need to be members, they simply need to enjoy the game and want to learn more! To help us get plans together, can I please ask you to click here if you are interested in coming along. You never know, the kids might teach you a thing or two...
