Hello golfers,
So the Men's Club Championship Qualifier has come and gone for another year, some of you are over the moon with qualification and some of you maybe don't want to play again for a while. Never the less well done to all competitors over the weekend who braved the elements (particularly on Sunday afternoon). With over 350 tee times being used over the weekend you can imagine that this has been a busy weekend for us in the shop. Well done to first qualifier Edd Shannley for two fantastic qualifying rounds!
This week is a big week of head to head matchplay as the ladies, juniors and seniors join the men for the knockout stages of the Club Championship. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all competitors the best of luck for the week ahead.
Pro's Day Sheet
As one Major Championship ends another one's taking shape. That's right, it's only 12 days approximately to the 2016 edition of Professional's Day at Linlithgow Golf Club. The tee sheet has well over 120 players booked already and everyone is getting excited.
Please remember this event is open to ALL members, guests and visitors. Professional's Day is an event that I really look forward to each year as I try to offer you all a little something different while showcasing what we can do for our members and guests. Included in the day we have a variety of team and on-course prizes, a BBQ and beer station, a beat the pro opportunity and perhaps one or two surprise shots to be played. I am also holding a party night in the clubhouse afterwards so be sure to organise a taxi. Emphasis is heavily on FUN for the day so be prepared!
The format for the day is fourball betterball and the cost per person is £10. To reserve a spot please click here.
Success Story
Now I'm never usually one to use this platform to talk about success stories, but I thought this last week was too good to be true (hence the exception).
Firstly a huge congratulations goes to last Wednesday's Mid-week Medal winner Mr Raymond Hendry. For those of you that don't know Raymond, he has been a member at the club now for around one full year having picked up a club for the first time around the same time. Raymond has spent the last few months investing in lessons from yours truly as well as buying his first set of custom fitted clubs approximately two months ago. I have been telling Raymond for some time that a good score was just around the corner but even I was shocked when he returned a nett score of 58 last week!
Success story number two comes from another LGC member who has invested in some custom fitted clubs recently, Mr Jim Keenan. Jim has been a member here forever and is one of the most active members that we have. Having played golf for some time, Jim had never been lucky enough to join the "hole-in-one club." However, after a recent club fitting here in our indoor swing studio, Jim has not only managed to join the club, to prove that his first was not some freak accident he has followed up with his second hole-in-one in the space of six weeks!
Have you ever considered what impact a custom fitting can do to ensure that the ball flight becomes more accurate. With state of the art indoor facilities, where better to come and visit than your favourite local pro? Click here to get in touch for more details.
Congratulations...
Well done to LGC member Andy Arbuckle who got a hole-in-one during Saturday's Championship qualifier at hole seven. Unfortunately I just missed the shot when out watching some of the play, I did however manage to hear everything about it from a very excited Neil Pitcairn who witnessed the shot live. Well done Andy and well done with the great score!
PING Fitting Day - Wednesday, 22 June
Perhaps you've been thinking about 300 yard drives, a high flop shop from a tight lie or playing a "Phil Mickelson" type bunker shot recently? Well, the PING Custom Fitting team are coming into town this Wednesday to help you with all of the above. We still have some spaces available for all of you out there looking to get the best from your game. Please click here to reserve a suitable time.
