Pro's Day
As expected our Pro's Day sheet opened at the end of last week and straight away the sign-ups have started. This event is my biggest day of the year and if last year is anything to go by, it will be a cracker! We have loads involved for everyone attending, including a BBQ, some nice drinks, loads of prizes and all for just £10. The event is a four ball betterball format and we are inviting you to invite your friends. All members and guests are invited so please act fast to get your place secured, don't say I didn't warn you!
Linlithgow Club Championship Qualifier
It's here, the big one, Linlithgow Golf Club's Major weekend. If you haven't already done so, get the clubs cleaned and polished, it's Club Championship qualifying week. The tee sheet looks pretty busy for the full weekend and the nerves have already started I'm sure. I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone the best of luck this week in your attempt to qualify for this year's matchplay stages. Fingers crossed the weather is kind.
PING Fitting Day
Perhaps you've been thinking about 300 yard drives, a high flop shot from a tight lie or playing a "Phil Mickelson" type bunker shot recently? Junior News
Last Wednesday night Mark had the pleasure of welcoming the local Brownie Girls Group here to Linlithgow GC for an introduction to golf. This of course was a great opportunity for us to have some fun, play golf and more importantly get some more girls involved in playing the wonderful game. I must admit I was a little worried when I saw Mark putting some gel in his hair and spraying his aftershave about 30 times. Fear not though, as ever his junior clinic was delivered as professionally as you would expect and the girls (plus all helpers) had a wonderful time. Pictured you will also see the group presenting a cheque to the junior section (received by junior convenor Stephen Marshall) as a thank you for the visit.
Junior Summer Camp
Of the back of a very successful start of junior coaching this year, we have the perfect little session for all you budding young golfers out there. We will delivering our first ever Summer Junior Camp for all members/non-members/completed beginners during the summer break. I know a lot of you will be away sunning yourself somewhere exotic, but for those who are not, why not let us take care of the kids and get them out your hair for a few hours over the holidays? Summer Junior Camp dates are as follows:
- Tuesday, 12 July - Friday, 15 July (2pm - 4pm)
- Tuesday, 19 July - Friday, 22 July (2pm - 4pm)
The price for the week is £20. In addition to this we will be running two "blue tee events" for our less experienced golfers during the summer break. These events are the perfect introduction to our "wee wonders" who may not have any on course exposure. Your child doesn't even need to be a member, but simply has to enjoy the game of golf! The dates for both these events are as follows:
Sunday, 17 July (5pm - 6.30pm)
Sunday, 24 July (5pm - 6.30pm)

Beat the Pro Results
Last Saturday's event saw the return of my "Beat the Pro" opportunity. Now, before you get excited at the prospect of beating me up, for those not in the know, this is when I drag myself out to the 7th hole around 6.45am on Medal days to play my one and only shot against the rest of the Medal field for that day. Please remember this is a great opportunity for you all to get one over on your handsome Club Professional and this week's winners are as follows:

Well done to all winners, there were a total of 11 players who hit there shot closer than me on the 7th. The four lucky winners were drawn at random by the lovely Pauline in the kitchen and all winners have been credited with £20 on their account (80 entrants in total).
