Hello golfers,
Well hasn't summer got off to a great start this year…. Have I missed something? Do we even have a summer anymore?
Fear not ladies and gents, the good stuff is just around the corner and it's almost "tapps aff" weather again!
Well done to everyone who made it out over the weekend, thankfully there was no frost cancellation or delay this week at least. It was a little cold still, but even the cold breeze couldn't keep our injured golfers away. Step forward father and son combo Ken and Stewart Dagger, both have been tackling some injuries of late unfortunately. They say "beware of the injured golfer" I simply say BEWARE!
Lynx Fitting Day - Tuesday, 10 May
Unfortunately sign-ups for this event have been a little slow this year and at present I am struggling to get this event to go ahead to be honest. Last year this was arguably my most successful fitting day (we had two) with big distance gains being achieved by most. Lynx are offering fantastic products for every level of golfer. Most impressive for me however, is the incredibly fair price point for what is a great product. If you are interested in coming along for a no obligation fitting please click here to book your slot. Lynx are offering fantastic gents, ladies and even junior products on the day, so this could be the perfect time to start thinking about what your missing from your game.
Young Masters Golf
Two weeks ago we launched our YMG junior programme due to start the week commencing Monday, 16 May. For those of you not aware of the YMG programme please click here to read more. Personally, I have approximately 10 years of experience running the YMG junior programme and I have to tell you that it is one of the most successful junior programmes in the world. The classes are available for children from 6 - 17 years old with progressive levels, etiquette and rules information, on-course exposure and both technique and rules testing.
Myself and Mark will both be running two classes per week which will run for one hour per week for eight weeks. The price for each child is £80 which covers their coaching and a YMG file folder.
Kenny's classes are as follows:
- Monday nights (5pm - 6pm). Monday, 14 May - Monday, 4 July.
- Saturday afternoons (2pm - 3pm). Saturday, 21 May - Saturday, 9 July.
Mark's classes are as follows:
Wednesday nights (6pm - 7pm). Wednesday, 18 May - Wednesday, 6 July.
Friday nights (6pm - 7pm). Friday, 20 May - Friday, 8 July.
Please feel free to phone the professional shop for any further information and to confirm bookings. Otherwise click here to confirm your preferred timing. Classes are sure to fill. We look forward to getting boys and girls signed up and starting their progression in the game!
Macmillan Cancer Support Longest Golf Day Challenge
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far to my charity attempt on Friday, 20 May. The big day is fast approaching and I can tell you that my daily fitness regime has been going well in preparation…..
Myself and some friends have decided to take on the "Macmillan Cancer Support Longest Golf Day" Challenge. The challenge entails that we complete four rounds of golf all in one day... easy I hear you say! Well to make things a little harder we are also going to try this particular task at two different golf clubs. Venue one is our very own Linlithgow GC and the second is down at Kingsfield Golf Centre and the date of the challenge is Friday, 20 May.
The friends in question are three of my closest friends who happen to be a little better known than myself particularly in the world of football. Stephen McManus, Stephen Pearson and David Clarkson are all Professional Footballers currently playing at Motherwell FC and they have very kindly agreed to support me with this challenge. This particular charity is very close to most people's heart as it is predicted that one in three of us will be affected with Cancer at some point in our lives. In my case, I unfortunately lost my Mum to Cancer exactly five years ago and since then I have tried to do a few different fundraisers to raise awareness and some much needed funding!
Thank you once again to all of you that have already donated. For anyone else, we have set up a simple Just Giving page, click here to visit. If you would like to become one of our corporate sponsors for the day please click here for more details. I may also be needing a caddy at some point!
