Linlithgow GC Open Day a huge success!
Well done to everyone who came along and got involved in our Club Open Day on Sunday. I am happy to report that a total of 10 new members joined our club in various different membership categories. Compliments from our new members were mostly about our course and the atmosphere around the club, we must be doing something right as we seem to be building from strength to strength!
Course maintenance update
This week is of course our much needed course maintenance week. As you all know I have only been at LGC for just over one year now, I must say how refreshing it is to hear how most of our members are fully behind the importance of our maintenance programme and can see the benefits of why David and his team do what they need to. I appreciate the greens were in outstanding condition pre-coring this week, but using processes like these will ensure better playing surfaces going forward. Let's now all pray for some heat and sunshine and the course will be in even better condition in no time at all, fingers crossed.
John Barrett Betterball
This Saturday is of course the John Barrett Betterball competition. Myself and new Professional Mark Odonnell will be competing late in the afternoon and we have a new format for all you golfers out there desperate to get one over on the pro shop staff. Check in with us on Saturday to see what we have planned... may the best team win!
Junior Update
Last Friday saw the end of our two weeks of Junior Easter Camps. In total we had 24 golfers taking part over the two weeks which was much better than I had anticipated. Spending time with you junior golfers can be very rewarding particularly when we see them all having so much fun.
Myself and Mark will be running two eight week summer camps this year starting from mid-May. Confirmed dates and timings will follow in this newsletter in the next two weeks, please watch out for this if interested as most of our Easter Camp kids are desperate to get started again!
Ladies Classes
I have one final place available for our Ladies Coffee Morning Classes starting this coming Saturday, the timings are from 10.30am - 11.30am with coffees to follow, please click here to book the final place!
Battery Trade-in offer
"Trade-in, trade-in", I know most of you have heard me shouting about trade-ins for a few weeks now, we've had the bag trade-in, we are currently running the shoe trade-in and now we have officially started the battery trade-in offer. Hamish Ferguson was the first at LGC to take advantage of this £25 price reduction by trading his old knackered battery in for a nice new Lithium battery operated trolley. This particular promotion was without doubt my most successful last year, if you are thinking about upgrading, lithium is definitely the way to go and now is the time to act!

Kenny's Masters Sweepstake results
What a finish it was to Sunday night's golf, who would ever have thought that Mr Speith would have collapsed so convincingly on the back nine, particularly after his 4-under-par front nine.
Anyway, for one lucky winner that particular collapse proved to be a blessing in disguise, Danny Willet was of course the eventual winner and LGC member Jim Callaghan luckily drew him in my sweepstake. Well done Jim, your shop account has been credited with 50% of the sweepstake winnings. The winners were as follows;
First place - Jim Callaghan (Danny Willet) £90 and tied for second place - Adrian Lewis (Lee Westwood) and Craig Morrison (Jordan Speith) £45.
